David. R. Kerbl D.ch., a licensed Ottawa Chiropodist and foot specialist. I have practiced in Ottawa since 1990.

What is Chiropody?

Chiropodists are primary care practitioners and as such patients do not need to be referred by a physician.

Chiropody is one of Ontario’s regulated health professions. Members of the College of Chiropodists of Ontario treat conditions of the foot through Orthotic, Medical and Surgical means.

What can we help with?

Patient Information

Fees are payable at the time of the visit and are NOT covered by OHIP.

In Ontario, health insurance companies do not have standardized programs for podiatry/chiropody services. Patients should be familiar with their health benefits before they agree to our services. Med-Team will not bill your insurance provider directly, but will assist you with forms your provider needs in order to complete your claims.

Be aware that your supplemental health insurer may require you to be referred or may require a prescription for some goods or services in order to be reimbursed.

How can I book an appointment?

My 1st Appointment

Here's what you need for your first visit:

  • Footwear that you wear the most or that cause problems

  • Any over the counter or custom orthotics you own

  • A small assortment of regular footwear

  • Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) Card

  • List of questions and concerns

  • Photo ID

  • Medical History Summary

  • Insurance card

  • Copies of imaging related to your current condition (if applicable)

All initial consultations require a comprehensive assessment including circulation, nervous system, dermatology (skin and nails), musculo-skeletal, health history (not just feet), lifestyle and footwear.

Please arrive without nail polish and bring your regular footwear. (flip flops or winter boots will give us little insight as to the nature of your problem)
