Policies

Respect

We ask that all of our patients be respectful towards clinic staff and vice versa. If there is a question or concern, we would be happy to discuss things in a courteous and non-confrontational manner. We have a zero tolerance policy for any type of abusive, aggressive or threatening behaviour, which would be considered immediate grounds for dismissal from the physician's practice.

Airborne Precautions

Please be advised the any patient presenting with potential COVID-19 symptoms COULD be re-directed to a COVID-19 Assessment/Treatment Centre at the Clinic's discretion.  All patients must wear a mask, will be subject to our COVID-19 Pre-screening questionnaire and have their temperature taken prior to entering the clinic.  Additionally, Med Team clinic is a smoke-free, scent-free office, so strong perfumes/colognes are prohibited.

Injections

All patients receiving an injection are required to wait at least 15 minutes in the waiting area afterwards in case of an adverse/allergic reaction. This wait time doubles to 30 minutes for allergy injections.

Health Card

All patients are required to provide their health card (OHIP card) each time they visit. If you do not have a valid OHIP card, you will be asked to pay for your services when they are provided.

Missed Appointments

We require 24 hours notice for any appointment cancellations. Any patients cancelling appointments with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to missed appointment fees. Any patient who does not show up for a scheduled appointment may also be subject to missed appointment fees. Receptionists are trained to notify patients about missed appointment fees when they are placed on file. Please do not complain or harass the receptionists about missed appointment fees, as they have no authority to modify or remove them. Instead, if there was an emergency extenuating circumstance that led to a missed appointment, then the patient may choose to wait until their next appointment to speak with their physician about the fee. Examples of valid emergencies include going to the emergency department, family emergencies, car accident, extreme weather, etc. Routine traffic and unexpected work duties are not considered emergencies. We ask that patients book their appointments with ample time to travel to the clinic and not at a time that they may be called in to work.
