Dr. David Mai is an English, French, Vietnamese speaking, fellowship trained in sports and exercise medicine focused-practice physician who has practiced in Ottawa since 2003. He has extensive relationships with orthopaedic surgeons, physiatrists, neurologists, allied health professionals (physiotherapists..) etc. to facilitate further care. He was the program director for the University of Ottawa Sports and Exercise Medicine Enhanced Skills Training Program. He has been the chief medical officer for many local, provincial national and international events locally and abroad. He is currently the Chief medical officer for the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, Calabogie Motorsports Park, University of Ottawa Men's Rugby team and is a team member of the Montreal F1 race and Ottawa Race Weekend.
He has also given sports medicine, exercise medicine and concussion presentations at the local, national and international levels and currently teaches at the University of Ottawa Medical School.
Dr. Mai also has personal interests in cycling, snowboarding, kiteboarding, automotive racing, as well as volunteering as a trainer and coach for his kids' hockey and soccer teams.
