Special Note about Tick Season and when to contact your family physician
** If you are outdoors this summer , we strongly urge our patients to check themselves every morning and night before bed to ensure that if any ticks have attached, that they are removed early , and before risk of transmission of Lyme bacteria.
If you discover a tick that has been attached for less than 24 hours and is flat /embedded, there is NO NEED for medical attention. However, If a tick has been attached between 24-72 hours and is engorged (google engorged tick image if needed), please only then, contact your doctor or see a pharmacist.
